many a hero has carelessly dug through a wall only to be destroyed by the horrors that lurked beyond. This tends to happen most often in out-of-the-way caves where nobody deals with the boneyard for too long. Later on, multiple stacks including those units (as well as skeletons and undead priests) can even kill high-level heroes. In comparison, the Undead Boneyard won't start spawning units until 20+ turns into the game, but once it does it might bring forth Undead Archon Titans and Bone Dragons, which are a big challenge at that stage in the game. Annoying if they kill your scout, a big problem if you don't escort your settlers, but otherwise killed easily enough. For example, a Bandit Hideout will start spawning Scoundrels after turn 5 or so. The stronger sites take longer to start spawning, so you have more time to deal with them. If you leave them alone, they will start spawning stronger units, and the spawned units might group together in larger armies that can be dangerous to even strong heroes with good units. At the game's start they won't spawn units, but after X turns they will start and spawn a stack every once in a while. It is imperative to destroy these structures quickly. These so called "spawners" glow red and if you zoom out to the cloth map they are marked with a threatening looking star. However, there are specific structures on the map that spawn new units at a constant rate.
